The Pines off-season

The resort is set in beautiful country, and the grounds appear well-kept. If the interior of the buildings had been as lovely and well- maintained, it could have been a pleasant stay regardless of the fact that practically everything within a 10 minute drive was closed or on a limited schedule. It is difficult to guess if the lack of restaurants, attractions, etc. was due to the current health crisis or that the resort is structured around the ski season. At any rate, the restaurant on site was not open during any day. It was supposed to be open on the weekends, but we were long gone by then. The condo itself was dated and very uncomfortable. We literally could not sit comfortably in the living room, so the fireplace went unused. All in all, it is considerably below the quality that I have experienced and have come to expect from RCI. A Great Vacation!

Our family had the best time ever. There are many options for excursions to please anyone.The food at the Copper Kettle is great! The staff at the Pines is very friendly and helpful. The country store and ice cream stand are a big plus and are very close in proximity to the resort. The beds are so comfortable. I never slept better. The best off-resort restaurant is the Souther Kitchen, 25 minutes away. Thank you all at The Pines! Our family had the best time ever. Okay in Basye

Layout was nice; like a sky chalet. Room for 3 couples (possibly 4 using pullout in lowest level). Things not good: TV in main living area would not work all week even after calling Office and then the Cable company. Lower level had a very musty smell and forced one couple to leave due to asthma; not pleasant for the rest of us either since the other TV was down there too. Could have used a good cleaning e.g. cobwebs, dead and alive bugs in lower level & maybe a carpet cleaning. Unit just needed some work. Layout was nice; like a sky chalet. Nice location & pet friendly.

It was a nice location, clean, & pet friendly. Though they don't wash their blankets (per their literature) which is a must during covid. There is no elevator & six flights was a treck for a man on crutches and a woman who uses a cane. RCI mistook the 100s as first floor, when it was the first building. The second digit indicates floor 110. We would consider coming back, but would bring our own blankets and get a first floor option. It was a nice location, clean, & pet friendly. Great Place to get Relaxation

This resort is very quiet and the furnishings are outdated, however, if you want to get a way from it all and be able to take your pets this is the place to go. There is plenty to do outside of Basye, but you do need to drive 30-45 minutes to get most places.
