Needs naintinence
Location is perfect, but installations needs lots of cleaning and maintenance. Also pest control for cockroaches. Employees there need to be better informed of what the resort can offer, also the pools needs to have better signs (visible) of deep areas. Nice property!
Nice place, make sure you have a vehicle to drive around the grounds. Huge swimming pool areas, office staff was very nice. But security staff were super rude. Beautiful and spacious rooms. A run down resort stuck in the past
This is an old run down resort that hasn't ever been renovated...Bear with me as I complain about almost everything about it. My advice is to stay away (if you don't feel like reading the whole review) So this resort has lots of potential; wave pool, loungers in the sun, family picnic areas, huge pools, water slides, playground equipment, and even a gym. But excluding the gym, everything is run down...The wave pool supposedly is open on weekends but it looks run down and the plastic loungers surrounding it are falling apart and broken. The picnic areas are also very run down, made out of rotting wood in an area that smells like human waste. The other pools are very large and even have a water playground for children (smaller slides) but it as well is run down and not taken care of; paint chipping on playground and the slides are very faded. They have lots of big water slides but you have to ask the staff to turn them on (if you can find any staff, very understaffed) and then they will turn them on when they feel like it, usually an hour after you ask. The restaurant is very empty and the meals are very inconsistent...One morning I ordered a vegetarian omelette and it was made with ham, cheese and mixed frozen veggies (corn, peas, carrots) and the next morning I ordered the SAME THING and it was made with cheese, mushrooms and peppers. And they also don't have half the things on the menu so when you order, have at least 3 things in mind or else you won't know what to get when they're out of spaghetti and out of pizza. There is a shaded hut next to the pool with a bar but the bar is unattended most of the time and you can't get the same drinks from there as from bars in resorts in Cancun. That's the bottom part of the resort (it's built on a hill), now to get to the rooms or the lobby you have to walk up this hill. It's mostly paved but there isn't always a sidewalk so sometimes you're walking on the road where drivers like to speed. Then after probably walking on the inclined road for maybe 100 meters you reach a set of 20 steps up the mountain. Once at the top of the stairs the lobby is another 30 meters away, again on an inclined road. It's a workout in itself to walk back to your room so if you get to the pool and forget your sunscreen, you're just gonna have to burn in the sun that day or pay for overpriced sunscreen at the restaurant mini store. The lobby is nice and the staff are really helpful and nice. But this is the ONLY place you can get wifi, and sometimes it doesn't even work. The rooms are maybe 70 meters from the lobby and then you could get a room downstairs or upstairs (no elevator) which means lugging your suitcase up or down flights of stairs. There are vending machines but they don't work and just take your money. The rooms themselves are basic hotel rooms with nothing special about them. But lots of problems are within the room; there were constantly cockroaches and small bugs crawling around the room, the room phone didn't work, half the outlets didn't work either and the toilet didn't even have a seat. The resort is FAR from EVERYTHING...You need to call a taxi or have a car if you want to go anywhere so once you're at the resort you're there for a while. So in summary; this place is old and run down and you should avoid staying here, it's not worth your money. The lobby staff are kind and so are the restaurant staff but the pool staff have attitude when you ask them to do something. If you ever stay here, you'll be amazed how this place is still open. Also don't trust the photos online, they look nothing like the actual resort. Great place for a weekend getaway just make sure you have a car!
We went to Bahia on an extended weekend trip with friends we were about 35 people and we got there on a charter bus. So we were there several days with no transportation. The problem we found was that the pools/activities/ grills were all very far from the rooms and the rooms were up a mountain. So when you went to the pool you had to be sure you were taking anything you want for the day with you because it was a heck of a walk back to the room. We returned another time and came in cars so it was a bit better but still a hassle to go back to the room. That is my only real compaint. The kids loved the pools and slides and the guys all had a good time playing tennis and grilling out. The women swam with the kiddo's, sat under the palapa and relaxed by the pool. We felt very safe and the atmosphere was very family friendly and the staff was great. We ate in the rooms several times, grilled out some and ate in the restaurant. The food was good at the restaurant. I liked the place a lot I just wish the rooms were not so darn far.
