Great views

The ease of the non contact check in was wonderful. The size of the unit was great. we had a three bedroom. The kitchen was well enough stocked for what we needed. The master bedroom had a walk in shower and the second bathroom had grab bars on the wall, which were well appreciated. The bedroom that had the twin beds in them needed some work. One of the bed frames was way to small for the bed and it would rock backand forth like a hammock when you would sit on it. Otherwise the beds were comfortable. Now for our biggest issue was the cigarette smell in the unit, The smell was noticeable whenever the HVAC unit ran. you could smell the smoke through the mechanicals closet whenever the air handler was running. I dont't blame Puente Vista because people also live in the complex.I believe that the HVAC was drawing smokey air from the unit below us a poor design. Management knows of the issue because there were two empty plug in room air fresheners in the unit. We will most likely be back but we will not be staying in that unit again. Very Nice Location and Convenient to Everything

First of all, check-in is online, which I love. The doors are not keyed with normal room keys. They will give you a code the day before check-in. The code activates at 4:00 pm the day of check-in. You'll have a Welcome packet in the room, as well as all that info emailed to you the day before. Upon arrival, after 5:00 pm, I couldn't get the TV to turn on. I called the office and had to leave a message, because they close at 5. They are closed all weekend. I never got a return call. I did have a maintenance man walk into my room on Monday afternoon, when I didn't get to the door fast enough. Thank God I had the security chain on the door that stopped him from barging all the way in. He saw me without pants on. He was there to turn the TV on. I had figured it out by then, so he left. The room was very clean. There is no ice maker, but they give you ice trays. The ice trays were empty, so you have to wait for the trays to freeze. My son went done and bought a bag of ice from the convenience store about a mile from the room. The beds are the most uncomfortable you will ever encounter. I slept on the couch every night. It wasn't much better, but the bed was so hard, it felt like sleeping on the floor. Four adults will not sleep comfortably. There is one queen bed in one bedroom and two twins in the other. Grown adults do not fit comfortably on twin beds. The resort in on a dead-end canal with very dirty water. Do not plan on swimming here. The resort is conveniently located, so you won't have to drive a long way to find the beach. We checked out two days early, because of not sleeping well. Long Weekend Getaway for my husband's Birthday

This was a really frustrating experience. It's too bad because the location near the water is lovely but the unit was not. It has so much potential. Being a holiday weekend we were willing to pay the higher price but don't feel the value of the location was worth the amount we paid. We were in unit #138. The facility is in desperate need of some upgrades. A torn screen, dirty marks on walls and furniture pieces. There is what looks like mold on the exterior of the garage and it does not fully shut. Upon opening the garage door it was mass chaos and completely unsafe to manuever around to get what we wanted for beach use and fishing. My mom is on disability. There is no way she could have acquired anything in that garage without our help. Below is a photograph of the advertised garage and the actual garage upon arrival. We we're supposed to check in at four p.m. But arrived an hour and fifteen minutes late due to traffic. The cleaning crew was parked in the drive way and still cleaning (which was a tad alarming). We waited 45 minutes for them to finish up but when we got inside a lot of things were still pretty gross and dirty. A clogged toilet, dishes unclean in the cabinets and drawers, a sticky dining room table, completely unuseable icecube trays, spotting on a lot of the furniture (though the cleaning crew did mention this part). The kitchen drawers really smelled when you opened them. The potholders were dirty. Part of the reason I booked this facility was for the equipment in the garage and the view. I even messaged about the equipment in the garage prior to our stay so you'd think this would have been on their radar. The view did not disappoint. The condo and accessibility to the beach items for use did, but I really fault the cleaning crew and possibly prior guests. Perhaps more stringency needs to be placed on the renters and cleaning crew to ensure the unit is ready for the next guests. I prepped quite a bit for the weekend in order to not 'work' on my vacation but found myself needing to clean everything I wanted to use. My feet were absolutely filthy after walking around barefoot the first day. I decided to wear shoes indoors the remainder of our time there. The pool is a bit outdated. The fiberglass on the siding of the pool created quite a bit of discomfort for my ten and twelve year old after the night we used it. I did text the vrbo representative with each concern. They were quite helpful and responsive. They asked if we wanted any of the things I mentioned managed. I told them the only one affecting our stay was the garage and was specific that it needed organized. They said someone would call me by noon the next. We headed to the beach by 1:30 (once the rain stopped). The person called me at 2. I had no connection at the beach so I did not get the call but had already told them they could entire the garage. They left a message asking what I needed out of the garage but did nothing with the mess. It was a lovely view and peaceful area. We enjoyed watching the fish bop in in and out of the water and the beds were relatively comfortable. If we ever decided to go again we would not take a chance on these particular units. There were just too many negatives and too costly a price to counter balance the bad experiences. It's really too bad because the location is great. This was a really frustrating experience. Nice location on Padre Island and right on a canal.

Take your own chairs. The patio furniture was uncomfortable! Overall unit was great and a nice place to stay! The location on Padre Island was quiet and very easy to get to all the sites that we wanted to see. Very convenient for water access and they have boat parking as well. Good access to Aquarium, USS Lexington, and Padre Island National Park. Lots of fish in the canal, right out the back door. Bring a pole. Take your own chairs. The patio furniture was uncomfortable! Would love to go back SOON!

We really enjoyed our stay. We were either watching the bay one the patio or out the windows. Dolphins & fish jumping kept us entertained while we were at/in the condo. Staying here was so much better than staying at a motel or hotel. The resort was quiet and safe. We really enjoyed our stay. We were either watching the bay one the patio or out the windows.
