The room is not spacious but comfortable to stay. Hotel did not recommend to dine there but there were plenty of good Japanese and Italian restaurants around the hotel.car is essential for explore the places. Spacious unit in Izukogen

We spend 5 days based in Izukogen to expore the Izu peninsular. The unit is spacious and can comfortably fit 4 adults. There is a decent kitchen in the unit where simple cooking is possible. Restaurants are not within easywalking distance as the roads are rather steep. The shuttle bus service from and to the train station is convinient but you really need a car to move around. The lady at the reception tries very hard to speak English and is very helpful. A decent onsen is located on the 5 floor. We spend 5 days based in Izukogen to expore the Izu peninsular. stinky room with mold

The room smelled bad, and made me nauseous. The bathroom in the room and the kitchen was old and moldy. I did not want to use them at all. There was food crumbs on the shelves. I will not use this hotel again. The main hotel onsen was nice so I will give it two stars instead of one. The room smelled bad, and made me nauseous. Clean Room with good buffet breakfast

The room is clean but access to onsen is a bit far away from the main building! Restaurant choices in the vicinity is limited! We went to a seafood BBQ area down the road (open area) on the 2nd night & the food was great with reasonable price ! The first night we went to a Japanese seafood restaurant & the sashimi was awful with mixed sauce & luke warm. Don't remember the name of the restaurant but the ground level is a souvenir shop! Something Different You See In Japan

Though it is away from the hustle and bustle city of Tokyo, it is a good place to relax and see the country side. Free shuttle available to the train station and very easy to get around Places of Interest. Lots of greenery and museum including the "Izu Bear Museum" & "Mt.Omura" and many other interesting tourist spot You would not believe such existing if you have not experienced such a nice and scenic spot. If I will to visit Japan again...for sure and come back to Izukogen Though it is away from the hustle and bustle city of Tokyo, it is a good place to relax and see the country side.
