This Place has gone GREATLY downhill

We have been here 5 times. always been great. was there for thanksgiving and what a dissapointment! the adult spa is closed permanently. the kids spa is closed permanently. the grill restaurant is closed permanently. The food at the "buffet" is terrible. the meal plan is a rip off to say the least. to add to the misery... the water is freezing in the waterpark. they heat the air but not the water. kids didnt even want to swim. The price to play a game in the arcade is average at 3 dollars! it was miserable and very dissapointing. Great young family trip

For the price paid, I think the value was great. We went on a joint family trip with our young kids the weekend after Thanksgiving. The water park was a great value and very fun, especially for my tall 4 year old who got to ride most of the rides. This place is built for families and kids, and I appreciate that. We had a suite with 2 separate bedroom areas that was super spacious. Very strange they don’t have any king beds in any of these suites but oh well. Yes you will get nickel and dimed for some of the kids entertainment, but we were okay with it and the kids had fun with the basic wands, the mining thing was a little overpriced (wish they could wear a mining hat and not have to buy it), and the arcade like most arcades is a complete racket. But the food was average to good, the ropes course is a hidden gem, and everyone working there was kind and helpful. Won’t be rushing back annually, but no regrets and I definitely would go again at some point. For the price paid, I think the value was great. Fantastic trip for the kids!

We stayed at GWL in Grapevine over Thanksgiving week, and it was definitely my kids' favorite adventure that week! We were only there for 2 nights, so we did not purchase any of the additional passes, but my kids definitely want to play the Magiquest game WHEN we go back since they saw so many families around the resort playing! Even with no additional packages, we had an amazing time at the waterpark. Even during Thanksgiving week when it seemed that the place was packed, we were always able to find chairs, and the lines were never long for slides. The only reason I gave this a 4 star rating instead of 5 is because I feel that the rooms could use a little love and updating. Even given that, I felt that it was very clean, and the housekeeping crew was always super friendly and helpful! Also... we did make breakfast reservations one day, and I did not feel the food was worth the super high price tag, but again... the kids enjoyed it, so it was worth it! Worst resort ever!

We were so excited to stay here and we are beyond disappointed!!! To start with check in, The staff was unfriendly and unwelcoming. We went up to see our room, which i had upgraded to a kids camp room so I was super excited for my son to see it. It was alright, but upon closer look the room was SO dirty! The bunk bed was falling apart and a safety hazard. There are crumbs all in the bunk beds and it was disgusting! There is so much damage to the bunk bed/kid area of the room. The bathroom barely had lighting and was dirty, there were candy wrappers and trash as well as crumbs through out the room. My son is allergic to nuts and there was reeses wrapper everywhere! The people who staff the candy store were alright except the elderly lady who was very rude and abrupt. The young girl who got us wolf ears was the nicest staff I encountered. Build a bear was the only other attraction that had decent staff, the rest were HORRIBLE. They don’t interact with the kids for the experiences. The mining experience was terrible because the two guys were two focused in talking to each other to even greet us or tells us what to do. I had to interrupt their conversation to get any help and even then they just gave me the items. None of them addressed my son or made the experience fun. The water park staff were all miserable. None of them were friendly- everyone wS talking about this. They were rude and one lifeguard pushed my almost 3 year old son down a huge waterslide as i was trying to go down with him and traumatized him to the point he was shaking for almost 30 minutes until i could calm him down, now he is petrified of the water park and he has always loved going to different parks. The shows are creepy and we left early, a song singing “there’s nothing to be scared of here” doesn’t exactly ease any child who may be scared. It was creepy and most kids left halfway through. The food was terrible. Luckily grapevine has lots of yummy places that we went to in place of the food at the resort. When we left, I was over charged by a lot and had to call and get this taken care of. To sum up- EVERYTHING was pretty terrible. For the price you pay, go somewhere else! This place was beyond horrible and had the worst staff. We wont be back and we cant recommend this place to anyone because of how bad it is. We are devastated as this was a long awaited vacation and we although we tried to make the best of it, it was beyond awful. Not worth the money

Unfriendly staff, bathroom floor was sticky. The shower was barely warm at best. The room was hot never cooled down even in November. Elevators were terrible be prepared to use the stairs or wait more than 30 minutes . Beds were uncomfortable we sank to the middle so didn’t get much sleep. Floors in the common area were wet and always had spilled drinks and food on the floor. No use complaining the staff don’t care they just walk away.
