Провели неделю в этом огромном отеле, но так и не изучили всю территорию.
Такая огромная территория, что приходится тратить около 15 минут чтобы добраться до бассейна! В барах у бассейнов ежедневно действует акция - два коктейля по цене одного. Плавать в море здесь просто опасно из-за скалистого берега. К Wi-Fi вашего номера одновременно могут подключиться лишь 3 телефона, поэтому мы испытали неудобства (нас было 7). Магазин на территории отеля довольно дорогой, да и выбор продуктов не радует. Сервис отличный! Все проблемы были решены мгновенно! (не работала вытяжка, что-то странное творилось с душем). Наше завершение отдыха омрачило все впечатления....
Я впервые отдыхала в таком большом отеле. Очень порадовал экстерьер и интерьер в стиле майя. Сотрудники отеля стараются всегда приветствовать и проявляют личный интерес. Номер обустроен так, чтобы чувствовать себя конфортно, есть все необходимое. Огромное множество бассеинов, так что ты можешь оказаться в одном из них наедине с собой или с твоим попутчиком. Минус -пляжь. Неухоженный и скалистый, очень легко получить травму или перелом. Для нас это большой недостаток, так как мы предпочетаем плавать в море. Наш отдых был прекрасным до определенного момента. Хотя номер в отеле выглядит ухоженным, рекомендую обратить внимание на мелкие детали. Сейф в номере оказался в нерабочем состоянии, так что мы вызвали "слесаря" чтобы нам заменили его. Мы обратили внимание, но не придали значения, что душевой кран не совсем функционирует. Точнее "держатель душевой лейки" от другого комплекта. Поэтому лейка все время падала. И в один из дней, я слегка задела ее и она упав разбилась. В итоге ее заменили, но в нашем счете указали стоимость 1900 песо, почти 6000 рублей(это самая обычная лейка "телефон"). Также телефон в туалете не был закреплен и болтался на шнуре. И кран в другой душевой был "разболтан". И это отель 5 звезд? Мы оспаривали нашу вину, но это было бесполезно. Такое ощущение, что мы должны были отслеживать все неполадки и чинить. Просто удивительно, что с нас не потребовали оплату за остольные неполадки. Мы потеряли 1,5 часа в попытке доказать то, что изначально это не наша вина. И в итоге заплатили стоимость 10 компонентов и услышали сарказм со стороны служащего отеля. Урок таков, если вы оказались в 5* отеле с "неполадками", сообщите об этом в момент обнаружения. Crazy bad service...
Where do I start.... got here for a early check in at 12 noon. We knew we were early so we waited in line only to be told to come back at 3, fair enough, so we went and had lunch. At 3 we waited in line again, told to come back at 5.. rather rudely this time. Stayed right in the lobby after lunch and waited in line again at 5 only to be told to speak to the sales guy. Of course the sales guy did absolutely nothing. So we got managers involved,everyone made promises then left because their shift was over.. bottom line it was 8pm when we got a non ocean view room ( we had reserved 2 ocean view rooms a year in advance) next day we were moved to a better room but that took most of the day. Promises were made by Claudia and she did nothing. Once they get you sucked into the time share there is no reason for them to keep promises or do anything to help you because they already have your money. I would highly recommend STAYING AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. P.s. We weren't the only ones sitting in the lobby all day. I felt really bad for a gentleman who was in a wheelchair and his wife who were there before us. The wristband keys needed to be reprogrammed 3 different times. ( more waiting in line ) If you don't mind wasting your precious vacation time waiting in lobbies or lines then you will probably like this place. Cheers. Hope this helps. First visit at Vidante. WOW! Marcos makes us feel like royalty! He is so attentive and so personable! Above and beyond our expectation! A reason to come back! Jorge is resourceful and helpful! Beware!!!
BEWARE!!!! It’s all about the sales. So we bought a package in 2019 and this is the first time at GRand Mayan. So we are members. BUT..without any benefits. While the looks of the property is very nice, that’s where it ends. From the time you check in you are pressured to attend the sales pitch. They offered 10% off everything we charge to the room. They gave us a privilege card but whenever we tried to use it we were told it can’t be used at that restaurant. We tried to cancel the sales pitch but we’re promised it was only to talk about our existing membership so we kept the appt. We told them upfront we aren’t buying anything. But we had to go through the entire sales pitch to include seeing the property.. They were so friendly until we said no to their offer. At that point they were extremely rude and dismissive. Our sales lady didn’t even thank us for coming or say goodbye.,as soon as we declined we were literally reduced to scum on their shoe …and the $2000 resort certificate we were promised turned out to be a fraud…it’s nothing but partial savings credits to use towards future stays at expensive hotels. You CANNOT use it for one stay…only a few hundred dollars towards each future stay. We will NEVER come back to a Vidanta. There are NO benefits to being a member. They show you an outrageous price then cut in almost in half thinking you are getting a deal but you are NOT!!! We have all the same privileges and MORE with UVC and that’s all inclusive with free entertainment! Vidanta has NOTHING free…not even entertainment. I NEVER write bad reviews about anything but I was i so disrespected that I couldn’t let this go without getting my experience shared. If you have an extra $$2.5m then this is the place for you. Living in the Jungle
Do you like waiting for buses? Never seeing the ocean from your room? Walking on slippery treacherous boardwalks? Needing a reservation for almost every restaurant? Feeling like you could never get back to room along the maze of narrow roads. Then this is the resort for you. The Grand Mayan at Vidanta is a gigantic resort set right in the jungle. To get from your room at one of the many hotels or residences you have to take a shuttle, like long golf carts, about 10 minutes to one of the pools or ocean beaches on the property. That doesn't take in account the time you might wait for it to arrive. The rooms are great and clean and lots of hot water. The staff are wondaful, helpful and courteous. Most know English. Food is very good and they have a huge sports bar called Salum that accesses 4 different restaurants. You can always get a table there. They have a Circ du Solei on property and well worth the price. Just get a seat, not the dinner package. Beaches were beautiful and kept clean by the staff. Was told by other vacationers there was good snorkeling on calm water days. This did not happen while I was there. Very wavy in November. They have a clinic for PCR tests right on the resort but results did not always arrive on time and I had to go to the clinic to get a print out of mine so I could get on the plane. Could be enjoyable, but the experience is ruined by several things...
I would not return or recommend this place to others. And if they wanted to sell us on a "membership" (ie. timeshare), they should have provided a better experience, such as a television that works or a room that is not over one of the main tram stops, causing loud noise all day long until about 10 pm. THE GOOD: I) Free shuttle to resort from airport (but you have to pay for return) 2) The grounds are nice, and we enjoyed the walking paths 3) Spacious room with balcony (but unfortunately this balcony was not ideal... see below) 4) Decent food (but somewhat pricey) 5) Sprawling pools THE BAD: 1) Secluded location means hard to get tours, and costs $100 to get to Cancun and back. 2) They won't let you have any guests at the resort (even though it is not all-inclusive) 3) If you want peace and quiet, this is not the resort for you. Room is noisy, pool areas are noisy, and way too many children everywhere. 4) Wifi and cell service is spotty and doesn't always work. THE UGLY: 1) The TV in the room simply isn't functional (see photo) 2) Required a lot of time to get around (my Strava app said it was a 0.5 mile walk to the main pool from our room; 0.65 miles to the beach) 3) The beach is narrow, rocky, and more like a construction site. Starting early in the morning, there was literally a backhoe working on the beach and a chainsaw running for hours! 4) Constant badgering to attend their "membership update" (timeshare sales) presentation breakfast. I would not return or recommend this place to others.
