beautifully appointed suite .. noise ruined it

The seemingly new and beautiful 'Short Board' suite is located right on Kiwanda Drive of Pacific City, OR and a minute's walk to Pelican, stores, eateries, and beach access -- BUT from 7am - 10pm, and sometimes later, you will be subjected to the constant traffic noise within feet of this place. Cars and trucks and RVs speeding by. So no cozy sleeping in on the very comfortable queen bed or lounging and reading quietly on a rainy day. No matter where you go in the house, or even on the lovely outdoor patios, you can never experience quiet, or the birds chirping, or cool ocean air and breeze with windows open. I did try a noise fan in trying to create a space in the bedroom, but didn't help much. WiFi was also very unreliable so used my data plan the entire stay. Dryer did not work. Upstairs in the 'Long Board' rental, and even though the guests were quiet, I could clearly hear all bathroom activity (I'll spare the details), walking and moving around. Having rented many places in Pacific, I wish I could have enjoyed this beautiful little suite and all the creature comforts that the owners took to appoint it so lovingly. For the price, and because of the noise, I won't stay here again. Many more options available in Pacific. I did not have a restful vacation this year, sadly. Couldn't have been easier!

The entire stay was great! The code to the key box was texted to use the day of our arrival, so we could pull right up to the rental without having to check-in or interact with anyone. The house itself was perfect - spacious, clean, and less than a 5 minute walk from the beach. The house came stocked with games, bikes, and all the necessary amenities. We could not recommend this vacation rental more! The entire stay was great! Short pleasant walk to beach but is next to a busy street

We’re familiar with Shoreline Village and we’re excited to stay in the community again. The house was clean and lots of room however they did not tell us that the fireplace wasn’t working! Big bummer since there was a huge rainstorm and we were really looking forward to sitting in front of the fire. Also it’s right next to the busiest road in Pacific city so that wasn’t that great. We’re familiar with Shoreline Village and we’re excited to stay in the community again. The house was clean and lots of room however they did not tell us that the fireplace wasn’t working! Big bummer since there was a huge rainstorm and we were really looking forward to sitting in front of the fire. Also it’s right next to the busiest road in Pacific city so that wasn’t that great.

As advertised

The house was well appointed and maintained. The area was peaceful and the walk to the beach is very short and nice. We loved the windows throughout the house. It was also handy to have a garage. Meh.

I’ll do the bad first: The back door was unlocked upon arrival. One of the knives I pulled out to use for cooking had dried food on it. Definitely was a distinct musty smell. The picnic tables outside I didn’t feel we’re clean enough to sit on without getting moss and muck on us. There were no screens on any windows or doors...so when we wanted some fresh air some bugs got in..and we had to shut them. Also one of my family members found a used plastic fingernail under their bed. The good: We loved the location and the seclusion “cabin in the woods” feel. The top master bedroom view was great! Loved that it had enough space to accommodate my family and our extended family and dog. Appreciated the ample kitchen pots/pans. Felt like it was a cozy place that my kids and dog could run around without worrying constantly about ruining something or breaking things.
